How it Works
**OUR NEXT TOURNAMENT WILL BE A MINI TOURNAMENT PLAYED OVER THE WEEKEND OF 15TH/16TH - for details please see the mini tournament page**
The tournament is played on the app Catan Universe and organised over our own Discord server.

This is a Cities and Knights ONLY tournament.
All matches in the tournament are 3 player matches.
We alternate between two scenarios; First Island and Treasure Islands.

Entry is by a form submission on our website. Tournament places are announced by email shortly before the tournament starts. You will be given all the details of how to join our server at this point. Unfortuantely we are unable to offer a place to everyone that enters.

The tournaments will consist of a group stage and then knock-out rounds.
Players are placed in groups based on time zone, times of the day they can play, and their tournament ELO.
The tournament will run across a period of approximately 4 months, with a match played on average every 1-2 weeks.

Match dates and times are arranged by the 3 players participating in the match.
​
Please think carefully about whether you can make the time commitment before entering.

Group Stage
​
Usually takes around 2 months to complete
​
4 players per group
8 matches in the group stage
Each player plays 6 matches

Tournament Points
1st place - 2 points
2nd place - 1 points
3rd Place - 0 points
​
A maximum of 12 points can be gained.
​
If points are tied the player who has won the most matches will place higher.
​
If this is tied then a number of factors will be taken into account, these can be viewed in the almanac in the "draws" category.

Knock-out Rounds

Depending on how well you do in the group stage you will either qualify for "The Ore Championship" or "The Wooden Crown", or be eliminated.
​
The knock-out rounds will consist of a number of play offs, then quarter finals, semi finals, leading finally to the grand final where a champion is crowned.

In each round each player plays a single match. Match winners will progress
to the next round. The best performing players in 2nd place will also progress.
